Well, my Mom and I left Lubbock Wednesday around 11am on our way to Houston. Westley was to have his Fontan on Fri and a heart cath on Thursday. We wanted to get there in time to spend time with him Thursday evening. As night set in and the day seemed 30hrs long we stopped for the night in the land of Blue Bell ice cream(I always forget the name of the town)about 1 1/2 hrs from Houston.
Thurs. morning as we were leaving to head out for breakfast and the end of our trip, we get a call that West surgery was cancelled and we should turn back. I felt so bad that I couldn't continue and at least be there with Hugs and Kisses. So Mom and I just took a 450 mile road trip to spend the night in a Motel and drive 450 mile back home. We didn't even get to give away the hugs we had saved up.
Cody and all had to ride out IKE at my cousins house. They made it though OK and to Austin. He called and said they will be home tomorrow. I'm ready. PawPaw and I will be here with arms awaiting.
Surgery hasn't been rescheduled, so we will have to gear ourselves up again. We thought it would be over and we would be on our way to recovery. It seems IKE had other plans.
We are blessed all of our family are save with little damage.
